The Delonghi Vs Breville Nespresso Vertuoline function the same, but you’ll see they’re not really the same. The Delonghi Nespresso Vertuoline features a flat top, whereas the Breville Nespresso Vertuoline has a rounded top.

Beyond the appearance, the Delonghi model has a larger water container and used capsule container, and is available at a cheaper price. All of this makes the Delonghi Nespresso Vertuoline a better choice.

Delonghi Vs Breville Nespresso Vertuoline: Differences

Indeed, these machines perform comparably, but the Delonghi Vertuoline stands out due to its lower price and larger capacity for both the water tank and pod container. For more insights and details, continue reading!

Coffee Flavor & Brewing System

Winner: Tie

Heating System

After flicking on the Nespresso Vertuoline, it heats up in just 15 to 20 seconds, and once it’s all warmed up, you can have a cup of coffee ready in about 90 seconds. In the world of coffee-making, that’s lightning-fast, and it’s one of the things I love most about this machine. It also automatically powers down after 9 minutes, so you can sip your coffee and go without any worries about leaving the machine on.

Brewing System

The Nespresso Vertuo uses this cool barcode-reading tech to scan the pod’s barcode and then automatically adjust everything from temperature and flow rate to rotational speed and water contact time. That way, you have to do nothing to switch from an espresso to a dark roast or vice versa. It’s ridiculously simple.

Unlike pressure-based Nespresso Original machines, the Nespresso Vertuoline employs a spinning system called “centrifusion.” Basically, hot water pumps into the capsule, which then spins around at 4,000 rpm before landing in your cup.

What about the flavor of coffee? It’s pleasant, but it doesn’t quite hit the rich and bold notes you might get with the Nespresso Original machines. That is why the taste of the VertuoLine hasn’t received a universal thumbs-up among coffee aficionados.

The Nespresso Vertuoline only works with pods that come with a specific barcode. That means you can’t just pop in any brand’s coffee capsules. And forget about using your own coffee grounds – it’s a no-go with this machine. This can be a bit of a limitation if you’re someone who loves experimenting with different coffee brands or blends.

The Nespresso Vertuoline from Breville is a little taller and lighter, but overall, the machine doesn’t take up much counter space at all. If you are also a fan of milk-based drinks, you will need to buy a separate milk frother and have it stand next to the coffee machine.

The Nespresso Vertuoline’s maximum cup room is spacious enough to fit any type of coffee cup comfortably under the dispenser. Even better, the drip tray is height-adjustable and can be raised in three positions to bring your espresso cup closer to the dispenser to avoid unpleasant coffee splashes or spills.

The water tank is conveniently situated for easy access, removal, and replacement. Securing the lid requires a bit more effort than anticipated, but I appreciate how it clicks firmly into place. The Delonghi model boasts a larger water tank and spent capsule container, which translates to less frequent refilling and emptying.

The Vertuo makes a couple of pre-set cup sizes determined by the type of capsule you use. Still, you can change these settings from 0.3 to 17 ounces to your preference at the touch of a button.
