Gaggia Cadorna Prestige vs Anima Prestige – Ultimate Feature Checklist

It’ll take an entire article to tell you how great both espresso makers are. But that won’t do justice to how they compare against each other. And this article focuses entirely on that – between Gaggia Cadorna Prestige vs Anima Prestige, which is better?

These features should help you figure that out.

1. Customization

Customization Of Gaggia Cadorna Prestige vs Anima Prestige
Customization Of Gaggia Cadorna Prestige vs Anima Prestige

This is the first thing I saw and I know most espresso drinkers notice about a machine too. How many drinks can you easily make in a home espresso maker?

Gaggia Cadorna Prestige has 14 different pre-programmed coffee drinks all set up. And it has 4 user profiles that you completely under your control to customize and save.

While most other espresso makers just remember your last coffee settings and repeatedly brew that. You can save and switch your personal coffee preference and your family’s easily. The TFT color display lets you adjust the strength, volume, and temperature right away. Save those preferences by colors red, yellow, green, or blue.

The Anima Prestige also features programmable brewing with temperature controls and the save button. So you can save the settings you’ve just customized to prevent wasting precious seconds doing it all over again in the next brew.

Unlike the Cadorna Prestige, Anima Prestige only allows you to save only a single combination of coffee settings at a time. No user profiles. No attractive color-coded icons. The LCD display screen lets you access the multiple pre-programmed coffee drinks like latte, cappuccino, Americano, macchiato, etc. It’s simple, direct, and very consistent.

2. Design

The Gaggia Cadorna Prestige is slightly bigger than the Anima Prestige by hopper and reservoir capacity. Cardona Prestige features a 10.5 and 60.8 ounce hopper and water reservoir capacity. While the Animal Prestige has an 8.8 and 60 ounce hopper and water reservoir capacity.

The thing is that the Cardona Prestige is a barista-style home espresso machine with a slim and modern profile. So that explains the smaller hopper/water tank capacity which in no way is a drawback.

Gaggia Anima Prestige is for those who value a low-cost but sturdy machine. It packs compactness and space-saving convenience with long-term durability. Making it an efficient and beginner-friendly espresso maker for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money to make delicious espresso at home.

And speaking of design, both the Cardona Prestige and Animal Prestige feature ABS plastic in their housing. Only that the Anima Prestige lacks the stability and durability of stainless steel that the Cardona Prestige offers to its users.

3. Gaggia Adapting System

This is something that the Gaggia Anima Prestige has that the Cardona Prestige doesn’t. The Gaggia Adapting System is exactly like it sounds. It is an intelligent and efficient brewing system that knows exactly what to do to get you rich espresso every time.

All the skills you thought you need to learn to match the espresso quality of a barista’s, the Anima Prestige does for you. This includes dialing in the grounds, adjusting the grinding speed, tamping, and pre-soaking. Based on what coffee drink you select, the machine adjusts, or “adapts,” to the right combination of settings accordingly.

This feature, alone, makes the Anima Prestige a beginner-friendly pick.

4. Cleaning & Maintenance

Both machines feature automatic cleaning cycles which is great. They also share a plethora of other features that make cleaning quick and simple. Such as the removable brew group, removable integrated milk carafe, and a hot water dispenser that does more than make Americanos.

Whether you’re pressed for time or are simply lazy (like me!) to clean their espresso machine, the quick and intuitive cleaning features and parts of the Gaggia are worth exploring.

Conclusion

The Gaggia Cadorna Prestige is obviously the more expensive pick. And it has features that match that competitive price. It’s multi-functional, customizable, intuitive, and consistent to use.

The Gaggia Anima Prestige, on the other hand, compares well against not just Gaggia’s but other brands’ espresso makers. I’m talking about the big names like Breville, Cuisinart, Delonghi, and Saeco. So clearly, Anima Prestige is affordable but it is exceptional nevertheless!

When it’s time to skip draining your wallet at the coffee shop, a good bean-to-cup espresso machine can be your daily morning fix. The Cardona Prestige and Anima Prestige are equipped at handling the grinding, extracting, and frothing. It saves time because the machine does all the hard work for you.
