Gaggia Anima Prestige vs Philips 3200 Lattego, which espresso machine wins the battle? After testing them for a few months, one more than the other, I have decided that Philips 3200 Lattego is the final winner.
Thanks to its many one-touch beverages and rich espressos, Philips 3200 Lattego impressed me after only a few brewing sessions. What surprised me the most was the milk system LatteGo. It can froth from creamy to dry milk with ease. And the total price is highly affordable. This is what I call value for price.
As for Gaggia Anima Prestige, this espresso machine delivers hot espresso. It also has a set of one-touch beverages, which I find very convenient, including milk-based ones. However, its grinder is not the smoothest for me. If you want more details about this model´s cons, check out below.

Gaggia Anima Prestige vs Philips 3200 Lattego: Differences
Philips 3200 Lattego wins 3-1 against Gaggia Anima Prestige. It boasts of a stabler grinder and delicious espresso quality. Also, I really like how the interface shows everything we can do with the machine in a comprehensive organization. I will give you the details below.
Coffee flavor: Tie
+Grinder
Both Philips 3200 Lattego and Gaggia Anima Prestige use ceramic burr grinders to grind coffee beans. This is a good feature that the pair shares. But, somehow, the performance has been quite distinctive, which quickly led me to decide on the more stable model.
With Philips 3200 Lattego, I enjoy a quiet and stable grinder that delivers smooth ground. It also has 12 settings for various ground textures, which I find very convenient to adjust the coffee strength and crema organically.
As for Gaggia Anima Prestige, the grinder worked just fine at first. But gradually, I noticed that the bean hopper didn´t feed coffee beans into the grinder very smoothly. I have to intervene and push the beans down manually. After that, the results aren´t impressive either. What I get is lumpy ground texture mixed with the finer ground. In the long run, this can lead to jams..

+Heating system
Single boiler is the system that Philips 3200 Lattego and Gaggia Anima Prestige pick for their heating compartment. And so far, I’m satisfied with what they have to offer. However, it’s noticeable that Anima Prestige performs better in this aspect.
Firstly, the heat-up time of Anima Prestige is much quicker. It only takes around 12 to 15 seconds to get ready for extraction. And the results are excellent as well. I can get hot espresso with this machine. I would recommend this model solely for its heat performance because it truly is impressive.
As for Philips 3200 Lattego, it takes a bit longer to prep the water, which usually takes about 45 seconds to over 1 minute. For me, this is not too long of a waiting time. Temperature-wise, the drinks aren’t as hot as what Anima Prestige offers. Still, they are definitely hot enough for creating a soothing effect and suitable for enjoying right away.
Milk System: Philips 3200 Lattego
With Philips 3200 Lattego, I can froth from creamy to dry milk foam without having to adjust anything manually. I was pretty surprised when I first tested the carafe LatteGo since it was so quick and potent. If you are a first-timer, I believe this design will assist you greatly in the journey of learning deeper about espresso makers.
As for Gaggia Anima Prestige, this device seems to specialize more in making creamy milk foam, which is ideal for latte, mocha, or flat white. Compared to 3200 LatteGo, Anima Prestige’s carafe system loses, but it comes very close.
Utilities: Tie
If you enjoy the touchscreen interface as I do, you will prefer Philips 3200 Lattego. The sensor system of this model is one of the best I have ever tried.
Also, this product line boast of a one-touch Americano, a famous recipe that I very easy to make, but not many know how to make. The quality of the beverage is phenomenal. The water to espresso ratio is just right so that the flavor is strong and balanced instead of being watered-down. You have to see with your own eyes to believe.

Cleaning & Maintenance: Philips 3200 Lattego
If you have checked some of my previous reviews, you know how much I appreciate the cleaning system of Philips 3200 Lattego. Not because it is super-elaborate, but because it keeps in mind the most basic needs of users when it comes to cleaning an espresso machine. This device has many alarms that indicate an empty water tank, scale problem, or dirty system.
We also have a single button dedicated to the water filter and the cleaning cycle. This helps with keeping the entire brew path fresh during a week. Each month, it is advisable to wash the brew group once.
As for Gaggia Anima Prestige, it has a bunch of automatic rinsing or deep clean cycles as well, which I find perfectly convenient. However, it doesn’t boast of the same alert system as the model above.
Gaggia Anima Prestige vs Philips 3200 Lattego: Similarities
What about the similarities between Philips 3200 Lattego and Gaggia Anima Prestige? Do they even have any? Here are 2 significant ones that I think you should know about the pair.
Water reservoir capacity
The pair uses 60.85 oz water tank to brew espressos and coffees. I think Philips 3200 Lattego and Gaggia Anima Prestige are perfect for couples and small families with this water tank size. If you brew once or twice per day, refilling the tanks won’t be very hectic. As for offices or commercial purposes, this pair won’t cut it.
One-touch Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato
If you are a fan of these milk-based beverages, Philips 3200 Lattego and Gaggia Anima Prestige are perfect choices. Why? I have tested them for a while now, and milk-based drinks are their specialties. From my experience, Philips 3200 Lattego makes the best cappuccino, especially for its price.
