I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

After testing these devices for a while, I have decided the winner between Delonghi Esam3300 vs Philips 3200 Lattego. If you want a quick answer, it’s Philips 3200 Lattego.

The winner Philips 3200 Lattego is a well-rounded model that impresses me the most, especially for its price. This affordable model can extract nutty and mellow espresso, and it has one-touch buttons for Americano, cappuccino and latte macchiato as well. If you want a compact enough machine for 1-3 users, this is the one.

As for Delonghi Magnifica Esam3300, this model is simple to manage, and it’s a standard machine for users who care more about pure espresso. Also, since it has double boilers, we can extract and froth simultaneously. However, this is not a very quiet machine, and its milk foam quality isn’t the best. You can check my verdict below.

Delonghi Esam3300 vs Philips 3200 Lattego: Differences

Philips 3200 Lattego wins 3 -1 against Delonghi Esam3300 thanks to its fantastic espresso quality, convenient one-touch beverages, and a phenomenal milk system that can easily froth microfoam. This machine is almost too good for its price range. For me, this is a steal.

Coffee flavor: Tie

+Grinder

Both models use a conical burr grinder to grind coffee beans, and theoretically, this type of grinder is one of the best for grinding coffee beans. But, there is a big difference in the performance of Philips 3200 Lattego and Delonghi Esam3300.

With Philips 3200 Lattego, I enjoy a very stable grinder that makes minimum noise. There are 12 settings for different textures, and after 2 months of daily testing, I can ensure that the device works smoothly.

With Delonghi Magnifica Esam3300, even though the results are pretty satisfying, which means the ground is even, I’m not very fond of its noisy operation. According to other users’ comments about this machine, it seems that this is a more common problem than I expected.

+Dosing + tamping

Both Philips 3200 Lattego and Delonghi Esam3300 are super-automatic machines that can handle dosing and tamping without requiring manual intervention. If you are a beginner and don’t have much experience with espresso makers or coffee machines, I think these two will give you a good introduction.

+Heating system

Delonghi Esam3300 has dual boilers
Delonghi Esam3300 has dual boilers

Philips 3200 Lattego is equipped with a single boiler, and Delonghi Esam3300 has dual boilers. This also explains more or less why Esam3300 has better temperature performance. The drinks are slightly hotter compared to those of Philips 3200 Lattego.

This machine also has a vacant space on top, which is designed to be a cup warming using the boiler’s heat below. You can warm the cups beforehand while the machine starts up to make sure that the drinks come out hotter and preserve the temperature longer.

Milk System: Philips 3200 Lattego

Philips 3200 Lattego easily wins the round thanks to its potent LatteGo milk system. Let’s say you are a fan of cappuccino. You should want a cup with dry and airy milk foam that is essential for a cup of cappuccino. If not, it would just be macchiato. With 3200 LatteGo, it’s possible to achieve this type of milk texture, which is airy and dry.

With Delonghi Esam3300 Magnifica, the milk texture belongs to the creamy and moist side, which means it is more ideal for making flat whites or macchiatos.

It would be best if you considered this aspect carefully based on your preference for coffee.

Utilities: Philips 3200 Lattego

First of all, Philips 3200 Lattego has a much more impressive set of one-touch drinks. We have, alongside basic espresso, Americano, cappuccino, and latte macchiato. This feature is a major plus point for users who want a convenient experience or those who don’t have much experience in handling an espresso machine.

Also, Philips 3200 Lattego has a wider drip tray for less cleaning and dumping. And, its dispenser can accommodate a more extensive range of cup height as well. The spout of Philips 3200 Lattego can be adjusted from 3.3 to 5.7 inches, while the one on Magnifica Esam3300 is suitable for cups as tall as 4.25 inches.

Cleaning & Maintenance: Philips 3200 Lattego

Philips 3200 Lattego has a simple cleaning system

There is no doubt that Philips 3200 Lattego wins this round. Alongside the cleaning and descaling alerts that the pair shares, Philips 3200 Lattego has a more simple and accessible cleaning system. We can find the one-touch descaling and cleaning sensor on the interface. Thus, it doesn´t require much effort to clean.

As for the brew groups, since both machines have removable brew groups, it is recommendable.

Delonghi Esam3300 vs Philips 3200 Lattego: Similarities

Philips 3200 Lattego and Delonghi Esam3300 share some crucial similarities about cleaning and usage of preground coffee, which I will highlight below.

Compatible with preground coffee

One thing that I like about this pair is that they are compatible with preground coffee. So, for users who sometimes want coffee but prefer decaf cups so they can go to sleep normally without suffering anxiety or any abnormal reaction while trying to sleep, this feature is crucial.

Descale alert

Yes, both Philips 3200 Lattego and Delonghi Esam3300 have a descale alert system that notifies users when the machines need descaling. Thanks to this system, we know when it´s time to change the filter or use a descaling solution to clean the water tank and brewing system. Thus, making sure that the quality of espressos is always at its peak.
