Between the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Philips 3200 LatteGo, the Phillips offers exceptional usability that is not too complex for a beginner. Both are super-automatic coffee makers with built-in coffee grinders and automatic frothing systems.
But I will tell you this… the coffee grinder of the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus is quieter than the Philips. For the rest of the features, the programmability, milk frothing, espresso taste, the Philips 3200 LatteGo is the better opponent for home brewers.

DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Philips 3200 LatteGo: Differences
Don’t be in two minds when choosing the Philips 3200 LatteGo as your next go-to barista-style coffee machine. It’s smart, easy to customize, and personalized for your unique tastes. And so it wins against the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus (3 – 1) for making delicious espressos every time.
1. Coffee Grinder
The Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus

The coffee grinder of the Dinamica Plus features 13 different grind levels with a 10.5-ounce bean hopper capacity. It also features a bypass doser with one scoop of pre-ground coffee. The bean hopper is secure with a UV-protection screen to keep the coffee beans fresh. Plus, a silicone gasket lid for extra protection.
The sound levels of the Dinamica Plus is better as it is a quiet and smooth grinder. You can adjust the grind size via the control panel which is a great feature. And for every cup, the machine grinds fresh coffee beans so each cup is aromatic and rich.
In fact, the machine has a mystery memory feature that remembers your lack milk frother and bean grinder settings. Coupled with the Sensor Grinding Technology, the Dinamica Plus stays quiet, consistent, and doses out the perfect espresso grind every time.
The Philips 3200 LatteGo, on the other hand, features 12 grind settings. It’s nice for adjusting the fineness of the grind size. The bean grinder is consistent but it has a bad name because it’s a loud bean grinder.
It doesn’t overheat as it is noisy nor does that affect its grinding precision. But it is loud and you can definitely hear it no matter what you do. Making early morning coffees less quiet than you’re probably used to.
2. Water Filtration / Descaling
The Winner: Philips 3200 LatteGo

The Philips has something that no other espresso brand does – the impressive Aquaclean water filter. It is on this very feature, plus the milk carafe, that the Philips 3200 LatteGo is a better performer than the Dinamica Plus.
The Dinamica Plus has a simple and straightforward cleaning program. It lets you know when the milk frother needs to be cleaned. It rinses the coffee spout on its own. But you do have to “get in” and clean the water tank and rinse the milk carafe to keep it clean.
The control panel display will also notify you when the machine needs to be immediately descaled. So you don’t have to do things on a whim or based on guesswork. Even if you brew espresso daily, the machine has a system in place to let you know the right time for everything!
But you can also force rinse or descale if you want to. The menu settings give you full control over timing, descaling functions, and other important maintenance. But the bottom line is that you need to descale it frequently.
What’s so great about the Philips 3200 is that you NEVER need to descale it! All you need to do is change the water filter every 3-4 months. The water tank has a built-in prompt that will let you know when to change the water filter.
According to my research, the Aquaclean water keeps the water tank scale-free up to 5,000 cups. It’s not very likely that you’ll reach that number as well.
The rest of the maintenance bit is fully automatic and easy. Speaking of which…
3. Drip Tray
The Winner: Philips 3200 LatteGo

The Dinamica Plus’s rinsing system fills the drip tray quite soon. But thankfully, it lets you know when the drip tray is full and needs to be emptied.
But having said that, the drip tray of the DeLonghi is very large. It slides out conveniently without spilling water. Based on my calculations, you will have to empty the drip tray in 3-4 days. This sounds like it’s very soon, right?
That is because the Dinamica Plus flushes out the system, letting out some water from the spout which the drip tray is supposed to watch. A good way to avoid overfilling the drip tray too much, place an empty cup under the spout after brewing.
While this is a convenient feature that is probably going to prolong the shelf life of the machine, it leads to excess wastage of water.
In the automatic rinsing cycle of Philips, that is not the case. The drip tray has a stainless steel grate with a little floating device that lets you know when it’s full. The overflow alert is quite noticeable and it keeps the drip tray very clean.
The base does not need to be emptied that often because the machine does not use a lot of water to clean itself. And yes, the Philips does have a self-clean cycle too to keep itself clean and clog-free.
4. Milk Frother
The Winner: Philips 3200 LatteGo

There is where it’s impossible to turn your gaze away from the Philips 3200. It has a unique milk carafe design and an automatic milk frother. With 5 levels of milk adjustments, it delivers the milk straight into the cup.
The milk carafe is removable and dishwasher-friendly. It looks sleek and feels very sturdy even though the base is made of plastic.
The unique thing about the milk adjustments is that Philips offer a flow stop feature to control how much milk you want per cup. Even if you’re set to a higher volume during customization, you can immediately stop the flow by pressing a button.
The milk frother of the Dinamica Plus looks bulkier in comparison. It has two milk settings: frothing and cleaning. And the LatteCrema system delivers well-textured and creamy milk foam for latte art. But it’s not as stylish-looking as the Philips.
DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Philips 3200 LatteGo: Similarities
1. Size
The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus and Philips 3200 LatteGo have the same size dimensions. The Dinamica Plus measures 9.3 x 16.9 x 13.7 inches and the Philips 3200 LatteGo measures 9.7 x 17 x 14 inches.
Moving on, their water tanks are also the same, measuring 60 ounces. The water tanks come with a water filter and a water hardness test strip. A 10-ounce bean hopper size with secure lids, UV screen, and silicone rubber gasket for keeping the beans fresh.
2. Bean-To-Cup Performance
If what you want from your home espresso machine is a one-touch button functionality that lets you turn coffee beans into a fresh cup of espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc. then both machines are your go-to pick.
The Dinamica Plus and the Philips 3200 LatteGo offer versatile coffee customizations with a sturdy and consistent built-in grinder. Their steam wands are not exactly steam wands that require manual steaming. But are automatic in that the machine steams the milk for you and pours it straight into your coffee cup. No hands required!
All you can do is add the coffee beans to the bean hopper and make the right coffee selection via the brightly lit TFT display. Then it’s in the hands of the machine: starting with the grinding of the beans to the pulling of an espresso shot with the final step of the milk frothing; it all comes together into a single cup!
3. Twin Brewing Cycle
The last feature that is worth mentioning is the simultaneous brewing of both machines. There is a feature (on both machines) that let you brew two cups of espresso in a single brewing cycle. Just keep two cups under the spout, side by side, and you can make espresso for two people quickly.
It’s fast, consistent, and by doubling the ground and dose, you can make some really interesting coffee recipes without losing time. There will be no inconsistencies in flavour or aroma.

I am a passionate coffee drinker. Since I left my job as a barista a few years back in 2012, I’ve been sharing my expertise on coffee and buying the best coffee equipment online. That’s how Wild Boar Coffee came to life.
I write about everything coffee-related under the sun. Where to buy the freshest coffee beans from? How to test coffee beans based on texture, aroma, and acidity?
I know all this from scratch – all thanks to my years and years of experience as a barista. So I’ve gotten real up-close-and-personal with coffee beans and different brewing techniques.
